Meet Our Ghost
A couple of days ago, I linked to '15 Famous Freaky Ghost Pictures'. We have a ghost photo of our own that we've shared with family and friends, that we feel is as good as some of those famous ghost photos. So in the spirit of Halloween, we're sharing some crops of that photo.
The photo below was taken when we first bought our home. The house was empty and we were just starting to fix and clean things up for our upcoming move in. The picture was developed and sat in the envelope with the other pictures on the roll - no one noticing anything odd. Inga took pictures of the new house back to Kansas City at Christmas and noticed this photo had a creepy figure in a suit standing in the garage. Needless to say, no one in a suit (or many other people) came by the house while we were working on it. Our ghost had made his presence known on film. Maybe he was checking out what the heck we were doing to the place.
A crop of the original photo. Looks like a man in a dark suit with his head obscured by 'ectoplasm' standing at the entrance of the garage.
A closer crop. You can see two legs and the cut of the bottom of a suit jacket. After enlarging, I'm wondering if there is a second figure in white behind the ghost in the dark suit.
A b&w version to show the ghost a little clearer.
Happy Halloween!

Remembering 'The Fridge' G.I. Joe Action Figure
Apparently, almost 21 years ago, Hasbro put out a William "The Refrigerator" Perry/G.I. Joe action figure - officially marking where his celebrity status 'jumped the shark'. There was even a commercial where you could The Fridge battle Cobra Commander and his minions. Oh the humanity!!!

Wake Up Cat
Everything in this cartoon, short of the baseball bat, has been done to me at one time by one of our cats. Yes, even the ear pull though it is usually my lower lip that gets pulled. Ernie will hook a claw inside my lip and pull. It doesn't feel good...

The Snowy Pinky Of God
Catching up on some old photos on Flickr including completing the pics from the 2007 Chicagoland Snow Sculpting Competition. This photo one of my faves.
It was on this snow sculpture, which was also favorite of ours in the competition.

People And Their Breakfast
Via Kottke.org, an interesting photo gallery of people and what they had for breakfast. Good thing they didn't get a picture of me during my tuna and toast breakfast phase. I am having the same breakfast on most days lately: Greek Yogurt, honey, dry-roasted/unsalted sliced almond and berries if there are any available.

The Daily Herald has a story about the future expansion of La Chicanita and all the hang-ups they've had along the way. The most exciting tidbit from the piece, is that after the expansion that the restaurant will change it's name to 'Javier's' after the owner Javier Villareal.
The expansion plan sounds good. Too bad their food is so...average...and for Mexican food that's just not worth it.
