Arlington Heights Eatery News
Funny how I haven't found anything happening locally to pass along in awhile, and then BOOM! A couple of things pop up all in one of my favorite areas - food, namely restaurants - and all in the Daily Herald.
First, personal favorite Naomi Sushi got a real good write-up in the Daily Herald this week. The reviewer gave them high marks across the board - from the quality and creativity of the sushi to the skillful use of the fryer for tempura. I popped in Naomi Sushi for a birthday dinner Friday evening and they mentioned that the Thanksgiving Herald will have a piece on their cocktails.
Looks like Jimmy D's is trying again to get their expansion plans approved by the Village. Thankfully there is no mention of making it a Cubby Bear (f#$@ing cubs), but they still want to encroach into the residential neighborhood behind them. That was a deal killer last year and I'm guessing it will be again. I'd be mad if my neighbors house was leveled for a parking lot, be it for a restaurant or bar.
Lastly, downtown Arlington Heights' two Italian restaurants, Regina's and Armand's presented plans to expand as well. Regina's wants to add a second story for an office and storage - the dining area would not change. Armand's wants to expand into the space next door, formerly occupied by Metamorphoses Gallery.
