Judge Avoids Being Most Hated Man In Illinois
Cook County Judge John Moran decided not to be the most hated man in Illinois and granted Chicago Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson permission to travel to Miami to play in the Superbowl. (Johnson has been under house/work confinement for violating his probation while awaiting trial for 10 counts of possession of firearms without a state identification card.)
Could Judge Moran really decide any other way? Even if he thought Johnson would get into more trouble in Miami, deranged Bears fans would be crawling out of the woodwork to make his life miserable, especially if the Bears lost the Superbowl. He'd need to get into the witness protection program.
