Chicago Fire
As a trade-off for spending the afternoon at the botanic garden on Saturday, I got to choose what we did on Sunday. Being in a sports mood and with the Sox out of town it was slim pickings. Then I remembered that the Chicago Fire's season was still going and as luck would have it they were playing a home game.
The Chicago Fire moved into Toyota Park in Bridgeview this year. It's a decent facility with great sightlines, at least from where we were sitting.
Almost as entertaining as the game itself was 'Section 8' at one end of the field, where the die hard fans do the euro-style chants during the game and wave flags and such.
Inga took this photo. She thought it was funny that a woman would wear red satiny heels to a sporting event.
For the record the Fire beat the N.Y. Red Bulls 2-1. We passed the camera back and forth and took a bunch of snapshots which can be seen here.
